# Motivation for this document

I’m delighted to be working with you! And I’m excited about all we’ll learn from each other! I already have high expectations that our collaboration together will yield some wonderful things :) That said, we are unique people shaped by our respective life experiences, and we likely have different preferences and styles for how we like to work.&nbsp;

I’m writing this user guide to give you a better handle on me and my values, quirks, and growth areas so that we can develop the strongest relationship possible. I encourage you to do the same and share your user guide with me as well!

# Conditions I like to work in

- 👨‍💻&nbsp;Workspace  
I like to work at a desk that allows me to both stand🧍🏻‍♂️and sit&nbsp;🪑&nbsp;to keep me in a dynamic work mode
- 🎶&nbsp;Background Music  
I like to work with instrumental music&nbsp;playing in the background to keep me motivated but not distract me with lyrics that may break my concentration.&nbsp;
- 🤔&nbsp;Focus Mode  
If I have my headphones 🎧&nbsp;on:
  - if my boom mic is engaged then I'm in a meeting, so please do not disturb me&nbsp;⛔
  - if my boom mic is disengaged then I'm NOT in a meeting, so please feel free to engage me&nbsp;💬

- 📝&nbsp;Note Taking  
I like to take notes using Mind Maps to be able to collect the free flow of thoughts and be able to organize them later. With permission, I will record meetings and have them transcribed for future reference.

I use a Pomodoro Timer to ensure that I break the work down into short, timed intervals that are spaced out by short breaks.

# The times I like to work

- ▶️&nbsp;Starting the Workday  
I start my workday at 9:00 am so that I can have 2 hours from 7-9 am in the mornings to do things like exercise&nbsp;🏋️ and meditation&nbsp;🧘🏻‍♂️ etc.&nbsp;
- ⌚&nbsp;Optimal Hours  
I work best in the morning&nbsp;(10 am - 2 pm)&nbsp;&nbsp;🌅&nbsp;💪&nbsp;🎯
- 📅&nbsp;Booking Time with Me  
My calendar is open and accessible so everyone can see my availability. I don't mind people booking things in my calendar if I am free and they leave at least 15 minutes between meetings.

# The best ways to communicate with me

Generally, you can expect a response by:

I check my emails three times a day and usually respond within 48 hours at the latest.

Rather than reacting, I am working to collect data prior to formulating my thoughts so I can articulate an optimal response.

I set my standards high and can be overly critical of others and even more of myself.
- 🤌&nbsp;Patience  
I tend to rush in order to be free of pressure by exercising control over the situation.

- 😕&nbsp;Engaging Without Purpose  
If I don't understand the wider purpose behind why we are doing something, I find it hard to engage with it.

When perspectives do not align, I aim to swiftly address and clear obstacles on the path to success.

Judgment helps me to define problems fast but can also make others go on the defensive
