# Motivation for this document

This document is basically a pre introduction until we meet in person or have a conversation. It is a way to get an overview about my role and how to achieve a better collaboration between us in the future.

I value direct communication the most and think it is the best way to really know someone but I will try my best to give a brief yet good overview about my role as a manager.

# My role

I look at my role as basically an enabler, you are undecided on what is the best way to build something you come to me, you need some assistance from outside the team and don't know who to approach you come to me, you need more details about a task in your sprint or want to discuss missing gaps in the specs you come to me and I will bring the product manager in as well, you have any feedback and want to keep track of your OKRs and make sure you are on the right path in your career development I will come to you this time as 1 on 1s and feedback rounds is part of my role as well.

Delivery is a big part of my OKRs and making sure that we deliver on time without overrunning quality or burning out&nbsp;is my main focus everyday through proper sizing of new projects, monitoring the process of specs development, work break downs, estimations, versioning solutions / rollout processes,&nbsp;stake holders communication and monitoring progress to make sure everything is running according to plan.

Another part of my role is to create and evolve team culture in the company focusing on harmony and having a fun motivating environment created by the people for the people and making sure we sharer, pair and communicate as much as we can.

# What do I value most?

I value ownership, seriousness when needed, having a laugh to ease the workload and stress levels, attention to details, open communication, treating people with respect and kindness, understanding and giving room for the opposite opinions and on top of all I value balance in all aspects of life not just work.

# My Expectations

- I expect from you to be open, communicative and owning your work.
- Understanding the definition of (Done-Done) and making sure that all your tasks are your responsibility to reach that state.
- Setting core hours of availability and notify beforehand if your availability will change
- Anytime there is an issue or feedback please come directly and communicate with me as there is always a support slot on my schedule for the team

# 1:1s

Usually 1:1s happen on bi weekly basis the main focus of such meeting include:

- checking the quarterly OKRs defined in the beginning of each quarter&nbsp;and the next activities to be taken to achieve them  
- a quick feedback on your performance in the past two weeks from my side
- a quick feedback about your adherence to the company values and defining any needed actions together
- gathering your feedback on what was good and what was not so good from your point of view since our last feedback
- any suggestions from your side in general and recap of pending action items raised from previous 1:1s

# Personality quirks

**What gets sometime from people to get used to when they start working with me:**

- can be sometimes opinionated (though always open for logical arguments)
- I&nbsp;don't like to take life too serious&nbsp;so I like to laugh and make jokes (might take sometime to get used to my sense of humour it can be dark sometimes)
- I&nbsp;have a poker face so I&nbsp;have a serious face when I am relaxed&nbsp;
- I like the direct approach so like to say it how it is not a big fan of decorations
- I am not the most politically correct person out there but I&nbsp;am honest about it

**What sets me off:**

- stubbornness with no logic backing your opinion
- chronic complainers
- manipulative&nbsp;people and manipulation in general
- over sensitivity&nbsp;

# Where to focus on your first 90 days?

three things that are the most important for me:

- gain domain knowledge and understand the underlying business&nbsp;
- ask questions (lots of questions)
- get to know the people that you are working with and join our team events to feel more incorporated
