### Embody the Perch Values

I love Perch's values. Our company is made up of a bunch of people who believe in them and strive to embody them, and I think that's what makes Perch successful and a great place to work. In addition, our values provide a great decision-making framework: if you can't tie something you're about to do back to the values, is it really the best decision? I expect you to seek to apply our values to your day-to-day work and overall career goals, striving to embody the values and be a part of the culture of progress at Perch.

### Always Be Growing

The phrase was written in my heart the day I was born. I'm working hard, along with the People team, to make Perch a place where you can grow. If you think of any ways we can improve the environment for your growth, I'm all ears! Beyond the right environment, there is one more huge part of your personal and career growth—YOU. I expect you to develop a growth mindset, identify areas where you want to grow, and work hard to move in those directions.

### Don't make it about you

There's no room for ego in engineering. As engineers, we're building things for other people, and serving those people well should be the primary focus of what we do. If the work you do is stemming purely from your own interests, you're going to make decisions that are best for you, not our customers, company, or team. And if you're not trying to make something that's best for the people using it, well, you're not being a good engineer.

## Who I am

I spend a lot of time getting to know myself since I think that's a key part of becoming a better version of myself. While no person can (or should) be reduced to the result of a personality test, some tests that I've taken represent me pretty fairly and accurately. While they're by no means perfect, they might help you understand a bit more what to expect when working (dealing?) with me, so I've shared my results below.
