**Engineering Manager at Carousell**

> The purpose of this&nbsp;document is to help you know me more especially my values, working models, &nbsp;and expectations. We can talk more about each other and build great team together.

# My role

I am LightBlue Chang. The Engineering Manager in TWDC and the DM of the Transactional GC team.   
Helping engineers to develop themselves and explore their career. Provide technical advice and make sure the team can deliver products timely with quality and scalability.

# What do I value most?

Emphasize **Mission First**.&nbsp;If you have committed to completing something to the team,&nbsp;stakeholders, or&nbsp;customers, I expect you to get them done in a timely manner. You will be empowered to take on bigger tasks and projects if you consistently get things done.

# My Expectations

**Professionality** : We have identical requirements according to different job level, but there is still some universal code of conducts:

- Proof your points with evidence, and help the team to know why and what you want to craft.
- Make estimation based on expected dependencies, your working pace, and take hard deadlines into considerations.

**Prioritization** : There are always a bunch of tasks in the backlog and your own interesting topics. Always reach out to members earlier and try to reach&nbsp;consensus&nbsp;with the team and act relentlessly resourceful to achieve the goal.

**T**** eam Engagements**: We act as a team and success as a team. Respect for others' opinions and right to talk regardless of job level or experience.

# 1:1s

We will have bi-weekly 1:1 sessions which are owned by both of us. The topics are included but not limited to seeking career advice, personal distress,&nbsp;recent projects,&nbsp;feedback to other folks, and suggestion to the team/company. You can book my free slots on Google Calendar if you require additional sessions.

- You own the agenda. Make some talking points on Lattice before the 1:1.
- I will share some feedback from other folks and company updates.
- Let's talk about your career growth plan and check the progress.
