# Luiz Almeida's Manager Readme

**Product Manager at Delivery Hero SE**

# Motivation for this document

I want to share a bit more about me with My manager and peers to let them know how we can better collaborate together.

# My role

I am part of the Acquisition Squad as a Product Manager. We are always looking forward to acquiring qualified users that engage with our features and are able to complete their orders through our platform.

My goal is to continuously grow the value of our product, solving user problems with delightful solutions, and make information about our team initiatives available to stakeholders in order to, together, define the best way to discover and deliver solutions that generate value to the company.

My job will be to listen, add insights, understand, digest information, iterate to the point to transform it into action items.

# What do I value most?

To a team to prosper, they need to trust each other. I like to build it through honest communication, respecting, and emphasizing with each individual personality.

When people engage during the talk and feel free to express their thoughts we grow together. This can happen collectively or in individual talks and avoid assumptions about each other.

My weakness regarding that is: I don't like to dictate directions, which can generate long discussions. To prevent it, I like to set the "bottom line" clearly and discuss until the moment we have enough info to move forward with the topic. To help me with it, please feel free to express any information and close topics if they are getting too long. I recognise it and will be fine on finishing it or saving for later.

# My Expectations

I like to be available at any time of the day, but during meetings, I try to be as focused as possible and responsiveness can be lower.

I like the informality of non-scheduled meetings with agenda, but they tend to be pushed due the amount of conflicts during the day, so it's nice to have "official time" to avoid delaying important topics.

Regarding mistakes, confusion and being right or wrong, I don't have the vanity to be always right and appreciate constructive comments. Also, I am always open to listen if something is wrong and we need to fix it. As a team, we face our challenges together and support each other, so no need to hide or avoid anything fearing critique.

I can discuss any topic, any time through any communication channel. =]

# 1:1s

I like to have it as frequently as possible to build a relationship and also learn more about individual struggles and goals. We can have an official weekly and talk any other time of the day we have available.

We can use 1:1 time to health check the current scenario, if we see space for improvement, share knowledge, and also see how team goals and personal goals are balancing together.

# Personality quirks

I like to give proper credit to people's work. compliment and incentivize our peers it's amazing. Also doing the small things proactively to help those around you is a pure signal of caring and I really appreciate doing and see it happening.

What turns me down is lack of interest or the "too busy" behaviour, to the point of being careless or ignoring people around even before listening to what they have to say.

# Where to focus on your first 90 days?

Discover the context you are part of now. Listen what's going on and learn about team background, initiatives and goals. Based on that, explore who are the people involved, tools, processes, feel the environment and how you can add value.

First 30 days try to understand where your skills can be valuable to the team and when to use it, aligning with collective goals.

First 90 days you should have enough information to know what is going on around you and how to participate in the team activities. No expectations yet to be handling all by yourself, but be comfortable enough to share your insights and contribute.
