# !! As Your Manager !!

As your manager, I prioritize your career development by providing a clear context for our work. I explain my decisions, drawing from past experiences, and strive for an efficient workflow through iteration.

My main objective is to empower you, offering mentorship in both daily tasks and bi-weekly one-on-one sessions. I'm here to remove obstacles, ensure your satisfaction, address any queries, and glean insights from you

# !! Intro!!

You may call me Nadeem or nhwani—whichever you prefer. With a background in teaching, leadership, and development, I prioritize organization and efficiency. Effective leadership, for me, entails open communication and feedback exchange.

Having contributed to large-scale production applications in Finance and E-Commerce, I'm keen to discuss my experiences. Feel free to share what you've been working on too.

My working hours are typically 9:00 am - 6:00 pm (GST), but I'm committed to attending all relevant meetings and being flexible to support you as needed. I'll make every effort to join after-hour remote-friendly work outings.

# !! Leadership Style !!

My approach centers around prioritizing the well-being and success of my team. I'm here to serve you, empowering you to excel while providing unwavering support. Drawing from past experiences, I approach challenges with logical thinking and offer guidance as needed. I value decisions grounded in reason and encourage mutual understanding.

Here's what you can expect from me:

- Addressing your queries promptly and effectively.
- Ensuring your work aligns with your career aspirations and aiding in achieving them.
- Mentoring the team on industry best practices.
- Offering context for decisions and transparently explaining the rationale behind them.
- Incorporating feedback for continuous improvement.

While I may not always have immediate answers, rest assured I'll diligently seek solutions, whether from myself or others. Sometimes, understanding your perspective might require delving into the codebase or taking a moment to reflect. If it seems like I'm asking many questions, it's to grasp the context fully and build upon your existing efforts.

Above all, I believe in fostering autonomy and trust, avoiding micromanagement, and empowering you to manage your work effectively.

# !! Communication !!

I value open communication and encourage you to express your thoughts openly. Feel free to engage in passionate debates and share your feelings transparently—I'll do the same.

Don't hesitate to reach out frequently—ask questions, provide critiques, and offer feedback as it arises. Holding back can hinder our communication and well-being. If you find it challenging to reach out, please inform me. Together, we'll address any communication barriers and establish a comfortable way to interact.

# !! Feedback !!

I highly encourage you to provide feedback regularly and as comfortably as possible. While our 1-1 meetings are excellent opportunities for feedback, let's not wait for them to express our thoughts. Our ultimate aim is to continually iterate and refine our processes to cultivate a healthy and mature team environment.

On a related note, I prefer constructive criticism to be shared privately rather than publicly, unless it's during retrospectives, where the insights can benefit the entire team.

To ensure our one-on-ones are productive, I suggest the following:

- You lead the conversation during the meeting; I'm here to listen, provide feedback, mentorship, and context.
- Take notes before our meeting, jotting down thoughts throughout the week, whether in Lattice or another platform. It's beneficial to organize these notes in Lattice at least a few hours before our scheduled one-on-one.
- Use our meeting time to share updates and discuss how you're feeling. We'll celebrate wins from the past weeks and address any challenges encountered.
- Be transparent and view our one-on-ones as an opportunity to strategize and strengthen our working relationship.

# !! Pet Peeves !!

I am laid back and approachable. However, for clarity, there are a few behavior traits that bother me:

• Disrespect towards others
• Unnecessary drama
• Consistently being late or ill-prepared
• Committing and then not following through
• Not communicating upwards or downwards
• Keeping key information to yourself

These traits should go without saying, but have proven to impact teams negatively and will not be tolerated.

# !! Frameworks !!

I adhere to several frameworks and concepts to guide my approach:

- The Last Responsible Moment

- Radical Candor

- Extreme Ownership

- Servant Leadership

- KISS (Keep It Stupid Simple)

# !! Fun Facts !!

Here are various fun facts about me (there are more, but let's let them come up in conversation):
