# My role (what I do)

This is a brief summary of my job:

- Hire, retain and motivate the best professional and personal talents for our team.
- Facilitate and unblock anything possible to make the team and the company succeed.
- Communicate and share information in the most transparent way.
- Work to make the products and people I work with successful in the best way, sometime having meetings and calls, sometime documenting solutions, sometime coding or configuring applications.

# What do I value most?

- **In my Team:**
 - Taking control and responsibility for our products goals, and focusing on the value provided to the customers.
 - Having each other's back, being accountable, supportive and positive.
 - Expecting excellence, first from ourselves and then in each others.
 - Keeping asking "why?".
 - Keeping learning.
 - Laughing and enjoying time together.

- **In everyone** :
 - Transparency.
 - Willingness to help.
 - Constructive feedback, especially telling me what I need to improve, as it's the best way to grow.
 - Proactivity and positive attitude.

# Working with me

I believe that transparency and open feedbacks are very important in a successful working relationship. Conflicts happens, all the time, but it is how we tackle them what makes us more mature and better professionals. I believe that "disagree and commit" is sometime need to reach a consensus.

Positive attitude, friendliness and optimism will make working with me very easy.

I believe in failures, as well as being passionate and brave and taking opportunities. I make mistakes all the time, but the most important thing is how to learn from them, and support each others when this happen.

# 1:1s

I'm happy when you come with an agenda or points to discuss in our 1:1, but in case you do not have any point I usually go through these questions:

- How are you?
- Can I help you with anything?
- How's you schedule, do you need to adjust it somehow?
- Do you have any feedback for me, do you see anything I could improve?
- Do you have any idea on how can we improve team's results?

# My background and personality quirks

I have a degree in Economics but spent all my career in IT, taking different roles as Support agent, Software Engineer, Product Manager, Architect and ending up as Engineering Manager.

I've lived in Italy, Netherlands, UK and Spain, making me value multiculturality and diversity in life and teams.

I'm vegetarian, I play guitar and (when my daughter lets me) videogames, and I'm practicing boxing and meditation.

What I love most is reading, my favorite fiction book is "The truth about the Harry Quebert affair" by Joel Dicker, and I'd like to recommend you these 3 books as a Manager:

- "The CTO Toolbox" - Sergio Gago Huerta (Let me discover this website and it's the basis of my readme)
- "No Rules Rules" - Reed Hasting, Erin Meyer
- "The Culture Map" - Erin Meyer
