# Motivation for this document

This document is meant for me as a practice of introspection and also letting my team members know what type of person I am, what type of environment I like to work in and what type of interactions I prefer.

# My role

Being a software engineer, I am expected to have knowledge about the current technology we use and the new technology available which if integrated can benefit the company.

I must pitch ideas and take ownership of such ideas which will help the company meet its goals.

Should interact in discussions, review code, provide suggestions.

# What do I value most?

-

My weaknesses:

- Very rarely, I approach my teammates for solution to problems that I am facing. I need to reach out more.
- I feel less confident while pitching my ideas to the team (working on it).
- I overthink a lot.
- I comparatively take more time to come up with solutions. (Result of the previous point)

# My Expectations

- Anyone can reach out to me on Slack or call me directly (if urgent). I am not so active on WhatsApp during work hours. I expect that others will also be available on slack or call.
- If I make any mistakes, the first thing I do is to inform it to my manager. (only if it is a huge mistake). I expect the same form my team.
- "Done" for me means deployment or releasing. We should have a post-completion or pre-completion period meant for clean-up and documentation.
- I usually prefer working at morning (as it is more productive) - but not every day.
- I prefer having some self-time so less likely to contribute on weekends, but I don't mind putting extra efforts on weekdays.

# 1:1s

- I have 1:1s with my manager once in a month (on 9th of the month).
- I must lead the 1:1s but I find it challenging to find points to discuss. I need to have a chart to evaluate my skills and learning.
- having 1:1s with other members of the team will help as well.

# Personality quirks

- I take criticism deeply.
- prefer casual interactions.
- competitive (healthy).
- less-likely to leave my comfort-zone.
