# Renee Mathys's Manager Readme

**Manager, corporate social media and digital communications at Anywhere Real Estate**

# Motivation for this document

I'm writing this to help my team understand me better as a person and as a colleague. I'm excited to learn more about my team and how I can support everyone individually.

# My role

My overall goal is to position the company in the best way that I can to our external audience. The channels I oversee are the places people go to learn about us so I want to make sure we're representing ourselves well and providing a window into Anywhere.

Social

- Tell the story of Anywhere by showcasing our people, business, value prop, impact on the industry, and more
- Content development and strategy
- Community engagement
- Building brand awareness
- Measure KPIs and use findings to improve on our strategies
- Monitoring trends and keeping up to date with the social media world

Web

- Manage relationships between Anywhere Ops/IT and Combustion
- Make any copy edits needed and audit the site on a quarterly basis to correct outdated content
- Position ourselves as thought leaders through the blog
- Monitor website traffic, audience behaviors, and audience information
- Identify areas where we can improve on the site, whether its the messaging, imagery, or design of the page

I help my teammates do their jobs by communicating openly, finding opportunities to collaborate or repurpose content, and lending an ear to listen or an eye to help review something.

# What do I value most?

I value good work that is thoughtful, clear, conscious of the reader, and inspirational.

I value straightforward and open communication.

I value the personal relationships I create within the workplace, and value my team's thoughts, ideas, and input.

I value our audience's reactions to our content, and value the needs and desires of our partners.

I value kindness.

I value feeling comfortable bringing my whole self to work.

# My Expectations

# 1:1s

I like consistent check-ins throughout the week. I come prepared with a list of items and like using that time to ask questions and to brainstorm.

I don't like having meetings just for the sake of having meetings.

I am available unless I say otherwise, and I expect the same from others.

A project is done when we've reviewed all of the data and have gleaned insights and recommendations for the next project.

I like getting feedback. It helps me make sure my priorities and efforts are aligned with the team's mission.

I like having deadlines. They keep me accountable and help me manage my time.

# Personality quirks

Sometimes I reply to emails too quickly and I'll think of something I should've added to the email 5 minutes later.

Sometimes I can be easily swayed by other people's opinions. I try not to do this (happens in my personal life too).

I do my best writing in the morning.

After 3:30 my energy feels depleted and I need to go for a quick walk or work on something more creative to help my brain.

Being able to sign off on time is important to me.

I'm not afraid to take risks and when things don't work out the way I hoped, I generally can move on quickly.
