# Sérgio Laranjeira's Manager Readme

**CTO at Metacore**

I've created this readme for the people that are interested in better understanding my ways of working. I keep it updated and every time I notice I change or adapt I reflect it here.&nbsp;  
  
Please&nbsp;always feel free to reach out on any channel [Slack, email, phone], I will reply as soon as possible&nbsp;and I will do my best to&nbsp;help and support you.&nbsp;

### My Personal Values

- **Generosity** &nbsp;- everyone is important, everyone can make a difference so I always put the people as number one priority. Being generous to people with time and kindness&nbsp;allows me to support everyone effectively.
- **Honesty** &nbsp;- let’s always do what is right even in the harder moments. Always evaluate the pros and cons but decide for the good of all.&nbsp;Always being honest and ensuring that we are brave to do this!  
- **Empathy** &nbsp;-&nbsp;be kind and care for others no matter who, where and when!
- **Positive Mindset** &nbsp;- this helps me and all of the people I work with&nbsp;in being motivated even when the situation seems endless. Staying strong, healthy and positive.
- **Teamwork** &nbsp;-&nbsp; the only way to become successful and a champion is to do it as a team. Be a great leader, inspire and motivate when uncertainty is in place and together we will succeed! Aiming to have as diverse a team as possible and that we respect each other's opinions.&nbsp;&nbsp;

### What is my current job

- **Motivate and engage** &nbsp;- Helping people getting better and better and being the happiest they ever were at work.&nbsp;I also want to ensure we are aligned with our mission of building world class games
- **We create a business** &nbsp;- I am responsible to ensure we are a sustainable business that focus on quality of what we develop and we are cost efficient, this will always ensure we are here in the long run  
- **Strategic thinking** &nbsp;- building together a strategy that we can execute together with all different functions&nbsp;
- **Measure, track and act on metrics** &nbsp;- all our decisions should be based on metrics we are measuring and that we can adapt as soon we identify we are not going on the right direction  
- **Delivery** &nbsp;- We are what we deliver and I am ultimately accountable for what our Tech organisation is delivering, if we are not making our customers happy with what we deliver I am the one accountable for that.

### What are my strengths/weaknesses?

I will&nbsp; **a**** lways make time for you**&nbsp;and to listen to you, I will also make all the possible efforts to help you no matter what is thrown at you.  
  
**I like to think big** &nbsp;and how we can change the world!&nbsp; I get excited with amazing ideas and let myself get carried away sometimes. Don’t be scared to calm me down and help me put my feet in the ground.  
  
I&nbsp; **sometimes have difficulties to understand very complex problems/ideas without getting all context** , so I might repeat the same question or ask to create a document where we have all the context and proposals discussed in a written format.&nbsp;  
  
For many years&nbsp; **I avoided and did not strive in conflict, I've learned to better manage this now** &nbsp;and I appreciate when discussions or conflicts happen we think more about solutions and how we can get there together.  
  
I got this feedback a few time&nbsp;_" **that I have a tendency to be too nice to people"** _, this is my personality and I will keep being nice to everyone, I have learned to provide actionable and candor feedback hoping this will help you getting better, I expect the same from you towards me.&nbsp;

**Communicate effectively** &nbsp;- a relationship of trust starts with a clear, honest and transparent communication. I put a lot of time and effort into ensuring information is efficient and&nbsp; shared so you always have the same level of information that I have.&nbsp;
