# Thomas Tesche's Manager Readme

**Senior Software Developer SSO at idealo internet GmbH**

# Content of this document

Just like a README for software artifacts you'll find here handling instructions, links to further readings and basic information about myself. The target group for this README are all people I work with but especially the team I'm responsible for.

# Leadership style

My leadership style is on the resonant side ([Resonant vs. Dissonant](https://smallbusiness.chron.com/resonant-vs-dissonant-leadership-styles-65011.html)). I live a mix of affiliative and democratic leadership ([Leadership styles](https://www.fastcompany.com/1838481/6-leadership-styles-and-when-you-should-use-them)).

# Personality

Regarding to [16personalities](https://www.16personalities.com/) I'm a [Defender ISFJ-A.](https://www.16personalities.com/isfj-personality)

# My Why (purpose)

I act as a role model so that people experience enrichment in their personal lives.

German: Vorbildfunktion mit meinem Handeln damit Menschen Bereicherung in ihrem persönlichen Leben erfahren.

# What do I value most?

- Honesty
- The will to develop on the professional and personal side
- Kindness

Be candid in your feedback and don't beat around the bush. Everybody is learning to do thinks better, smarter or faster day by day. Be interactive with your team mates (pairing, code reviews, discussions). Push for change and do not shy away from conflict.

# My Expectations

Further training is essential for every team member. Be on the active side with your education and let not overwhelm you by your daily work. Already have or develop an emotional intelligence which makes it easy for you to communicate and interact with others not only on a rational level. Be a team player but state your personality.

# 1:1s

1:1s are a valuable way to understand the team members as persons and be informed about their current work. They also give space for rather confidential conversations. 1:1s are scheduled usually biweekly but the frequency will be adapted to the actual need.

# Personality quirks

I tend to be super kind which often makes it harder for me to give candid feedback. So it would be a good idea to ask for that in case you feel that my words didn't match my body language. It's possibly to rip me off but not more than two times.

# Where to focus on your first 90 days?

Get warm with your new team mates. Work in pair to acclimatize with the team mates is more important than to show off that you're the specialist in framework xyz. Get comfortable with our infrastructure and understand the big picture. After 30 days you need to be capable to deploy some features to production and be not worried while doing so.
